Iniscealtra shield 2009, semi-final penalty shoot-out

In a repeat of the 2008 final of the Iniscealtra Community Shield, Absolute FC met inaugural champions Jakko’s Bar in one of the tournament’s 2009 semi-finals. The tie ended in a draw and was decided by a penalty shoot-out. Much to the confusion of those watching on the sidelines, the referee instructed each team that they would initially have 4 penalty kicks each and each penalty kick must be struck from a standing position. i.e. no steps / run-up.
